Call to order-The meeting was called to order at 7:10pm at Hackney’s in Lake Zurich. Those in attendance were: Bob Brown, Randy Steen, Tom Vogan, Mike Babicz, Jerry Blum, Rocky Nelson and Mike Roseman.
Approval of minutes for September 18, 2006-Mike Roseman moved to accept the minutes of Sept. 18, 2006, Tom Vogan seconded the motion. The motion was passed unanimously. The minutes will be brought up again at the May 21, 2007 Meeting.
Treasurer’s report-Randy Steen-The current balance in the checking account is $7,418.00.
Randy passed out the 2006-2007 budget analysis and it was explained.
Dropping of the contribution to the Geske and Brown Funds by the NOA was discussed.
Randy passed out information on the IHSA Grant for a Basketball display board, and a DVD Camcorder w/ case, starter kit and extra battery.
Secretary’s Report-Jerry Blum – The Newsletter will be out after the State basketball assignments have all be released. This way we will be able to recognize all those receiving post season assignments. I am looking for information to put in the Newsletter, Sport President Reports, Assignment chairmen reports- Promotions, and Banquet information.
Membership Chairman’s Report-Mike Roseman –Mike will be in charge of the membership roster and making changes to it. Any changes in contact information should go through Mike.
Total membership is at 163, that is an increase of 19 members.
There is a concern of how members are treating one another. Remember we are here to help one another.
How can we help officials be better prepared for working contests.
Assignment Chairman’s Reports-
Football-Bob Brown-Assignment meeting was on Dec. 8,2006. This will be moved to Feb. starting in 2008. Most crews have a full schedule.
Basketball- Mike Babicz- Mike assigned 27 dates at Quentin Rd. and used 18 NOA members.
The recent Tournament was 26 games and used either 2 or 3 officials.
There were 33 dates filled for Jerry Heidlauf using 11 NOAmembers.
Contact Mike for Jerry Heidlauf dates for 2007-2008. These are underlevel games assigned this spring. Dates and times will be given out in the spring and contracts will locations will be sent out in Aug.
Quentin Rd. may go to three person mechanics for all Varsity and College games in 2007-08.
Mike receives no compensation for any of these assignments.

Presidents’ Reports
Football- Tom Vogan- Two members have already volunteered to do presentations next fall.
Basketball-Rocky Nelson-Record attendance at this year’s meetings. We averaged about 50 members/meeting.
Elections for Basketball will be in the fall of 2007.
The use of e-mail ballots was discussed.
Top 15 list selection was discussed.
Baseball – Ron Guy-No report.

Banquet Committee Report- Randy Steen
- 2007 Banquet will be on April 21 at Parkway by the Lake.
- Possible 50-50 Raffle was discussed as a fund raiser for The Bob Brown Fund.
- Menu will be posted in the newsletter.

Norm Geske Fund-Peter King(Randy Steen)- The fund balance stands at about $14,00.00.
Bob Brown Fund-Randy Steen-The Bob Brown night fund raiser brought in $735.00 with some more coming in. Our goal is to raise at least $1000.00 per Year.
Keith Ryan Scholarship- Mike Babicz- Dinner will be in Sept.2007.
Bob Brown nominated Dick Kessler to be inducted into the Lake County Hall of Fame. The motion was seconded by Rocky Nelson and the vote was unanimous. Don Swanson will contact Dick about this honor. Bob Brown commented on how the dinner is a great function and the NOA Board should be better represented.
Lifetime Members-Don Swanson
Mike Briggs was voted as a lifetime member at the Sept. 18,2006 meeting. Don Swanson will contact him and let him know when the Banquet is.
Old Business-Board Salaries Tabled.
New Business-Change in Meeting venue and format were discussed.
Possibilities are: Board member house, Connections Day School.
Mike Babicz will check on availability and report back.
Mike Rose Award- Frank Cittadino was nominated by Bob Brown and seconded by Mike Babicz The vote was unanimous. Don Swanson will contact him.Mike Babicz proposed a new direction for selecting the Top 15 lists for all NOA sports. It was proposed to form a committee to discuss this issue and bring a report to the next board meeting on May 21, 2007. Mike Babicz, Mike Roseman, Randy Steen, and Jerry Blum have volunteered to work on the committee.
Motion to adjourn by Tom Vogan at 10:05 pm and seconded by Mike Roseman. The vote was unanimous.
