Dear Fellow NOA Members,
It is with a heavy heart that I write this letter to you. Please allow
me this opportunity to share my feelings. The NOA has lost an icon
with the passing of Bob Brown.I can think of no individual in my time in the NOA who has done so much
for all of us, whether a football or basketball member. He has provided most of
us our first officiating experience, whether freshman, sophomore, or varsity.
But more important, is Bob’s contribution to our overall experience. No
one can deny Bob’s witty humor or uncanny memory. He has amazed each and every
one of us with his gems. I am going to miss my conversations with him, as I
know many of you will. I hope another one like him comes along, but I doubt it.
